Dave Roberts defends Jacob Misiorowski’s All-Star selection

Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Jacob Misiorowski recently responded to Clayton Kershaw's pre-game comments in a huge way.
From Kershaw's clean-shaven 2008 debut to Paul Skenes' first MLB start in 2024, some All-Star pitchers today look more different from their rookie selves than others.
In his six innings of work, Misiorowski gave up only that one run on four hits. He walked one. He struck out 12. That is one shy of the Brewers' rookie record ( Freddy Peralta, now Misioroski's teammate, struck out 13 on May 13, 2018).
The Los Angeles Dodgers veteran was completely candid when asked about his matchup with the impressive Milwaukee Brewers rookie.
Milwaukee sent Jacob Misiorowski to the mound while the Dodgers sent legendary lefty Clayton Kershaw to the hill. One thing that was a story before the action was that Kershaw was asked about Misiorowski and seemingly took a little dig at the rookie.
When asked about Misiorowski, this is what Kershaw told beat reporter Bill Plunkett: “I don’t even know who I’m pitching against. (Miz) Is that the guy who twisted his ankle on the mound. The ‘Twisted-His-Ankle’ guy. I know he throws hard. I saw a couple highlights. He throws hard. But so does everybody. Except me.”
