A 21-year-old man has been arrested after Santa Rosa police say they believe he is linked to the deaths of two high school students who died from possible fentanyl overdose.

Two Santa Rosa high school students have died after allegedly overdosing on fentanyl, Santa Rosa police said. Two other students remain hospitalized after also allegedly overdosing on fentanyl in a separate incident Saturday.

The girl who died had been a student at Santa Rosa High School and the young man a student at Montgomery High. The schools of the hospitalized girls were not made public. Santa Rosa City Schools sent a message to families Sunday acknowledging that police were investigating the deaths of four students or former students: Saturday’s overdose victims;
