Gov. Kathy Hochul is seeking to bolster oversight of prisons and jails in New York in this year’s state budget while affording herself the ability to close up to five state prisons over the next year.

According to deputies, a juvenile male fired a gun inside the vehicle. A juvenile female inside the vehicle was shot at least one time.
