Early in the study, treatment consisted of oral administration of antihistamines, tripelennamine or diphenhydramine, and calamine lotion applied for itching.

These reactions were suppressed somewhat by tripelennamine. A persistent urinary-tract infection responded only partially to antibiotic and sulfonamide therapy.
