The 2025 MLB Draft had New Jersey baseball fans glued to their television. Every few minutes, another New Jersey player was taken off the board, including two in the first round, and three drafted directly out of high school.

Emmaus High grad Wyatt Henseler was picked by the Washington Nationals in the ninth round of Monday’s MLB Draft. He was the No. 261 pick overall.

The Los Angeles Angels shocked observers by taking UC Santa Barbara pitcher Tyler Bremner at No. 2 overall. The Seattle Mariners took LSU left-hander Kade Anderson, who helped his team win the 2025 College World Series, at No. 3 while the Colorado Rockies selected Ethan Holliday, son of former star outfielder Matt Holliday, at No. 4.

The New York Mets used the 223rd selection in the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft on Auburn pitcher Cam Tilly on Monday. Tilly took on greater role as his second season with the Tigers went on, and he became the second Auburn pitcher picked in the seventh round of the 2025 draft. The Toronto Blue Jays chose Dylan Watts at No. 202.
