Harsud was a town and municipality in Khandwa in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. Although the town was more than 700 years old, it was submerged under the waters of the Indira Sagar dam in July 2004.

During that time, Dr. Chatterji and Mr. Mander attended 7 public hearings across Khandwa district, in Bangarda, Barud, Bhavarali, Chanera, Harsud, Kala Patha and Purni. The public hearings were organized by local people, independent organizations and the Narmada Bachao Andolan (Save the Narmada Movement).

The Harsud got submerged in 30 June 2004. This historic town was established in the year 1815 by the then King Harshvardhan. It has been shifted to Chhanera (New Harsud).
