2023年12月2日 · The push-button was a whim. I start the Corolla using the push button, but it is wired up so that it can still be started the normal way, with the key in the “start” position,. The relay installation solved the iffy “start” position problem.

2019年3月11日 · IMO, your concerns about keyless starting are misplaced. Electronic systems are more reliable than mechanical systems. If you put a lot of keys on your key chain, the weight can lead to damage to the ignition cylinder. This won’t happen with a push button start system. I have the push button start in my 2017 Honda Accord EX-L.
Why did push button starts become popular instead of keyed
2024年1月2日 · In a normal passenger car, if you press the start button, it electronically initiates the starting process and the car starts. In a higher end car, you push the starter button and physically activate the starter. If you let go of the button too soon, the car doesn't start. Is this not the case in an S2000?

2011年6月22日 · I would argue that it is, yes. For years now most cars have been coming with transponder keys anyway, so the transponder system of the push-start doesn’t add or remove reliability. The start button just replaces the key cylinder with a simple momentary switch. Now you don’t have to worry about a too-heavy key ring wearing out the ignition ...
r/cars on Reddit: What do you guys think of the push button start ...
Some cars (like the S2000) have push button starts, but have keys. And my MX-5 and Cayenne have smart keys, but no push button start. I love my smart keys, for the reasons you mention. I dislike push-button start, though, because I like having the ability to immediately turn a fob (or the key) to ACC to cut the motor, even when the car is moving.
Is there a correct way to start vehicles with Push To Start?
Call me old fashioned (all my cars are from the 90s at the newest) but if I drive a push to start car I'll hit the button, give it 5 sec to "wake up" then hit the button again. Just gives the ECU a chance to work stuff out but is quite irrelevant as opening the door generally primes the fuel pump and already sets the car up for starting.

2020年3月30日 · When you push the start button, you’re making an electrical connection that tells the computer you want to start the car and it should check to see if an authorized key is present. It’s the same thing. The computer doesn’t care what the switch looks like, it only cares that the signal gets sent.
Cars with coolest push-button start buttons, or locations, or ideas?
2016年6月26日 · How so? I thought it was pretty convenient. Foot on brake/push start button/shift into gear once the engine starts. Also, the button had to be pushed fairly deeply to work. Maybe 1/2 an inch or so. Even if your hand was resting on the button as you changed the gear, it would be impossible to press the button far enough to turn the engine off.
I don't really understand Push to Start. : r/cars - Reddit
Yea but the push to start is becoming standard on alot of cars. I'm in and out of maybe 10 cars a week at my job and most '15 and up cars are push to start. It's a convenience factor. It's part of the technology that manufacturers are always using to improve driving dynamics. Idk about marketing gimmicks

2019年3月3日 · I would recommend a factory installed as we have seen problems with aftermarket remote starters. My best friend wanted a remote start system installed on his brand-new Rav-4, and although the dealership tried their best to push him toward an aftermarket system, I pressured him to go with the “factory” Toyota remote starter.
