Sahebzada Mir Himayat Ali Khan Siddiqi Azam Jah (Urdu: اعظم جاہ داماد والاشان صاحب زادہ نواب سر میر حمایت علی خان بہادر بے آفندی; 21/22 February 1907 – 9 October 1970) was the eldest son of the seventh and last Nizam of Hyderabad, Mir Osman Ali Khan, Asaf Jah VII and Sahebzadi Azamunnisa Begum, daughter of Sahebzada Mir Jahangir Ali Khan Siddiqi.

Part of a service produced for the Nawab of the Carnatic, Azam Jah (r.1819-1825), between 1820-1823. It has a pink border with gilt scrolls and embossed white flower groups. The centre has the title of the Nawab of the Carnatic ‘Amir al-Hind Nawab ‘Azam Jah Bahadur’ in Arabic script surrounded by a circlet of polychrome flowers and foliage.

The most important of these trusts was “H.E.H. The Nizam’s Jewellery Trust”. He mandated that the jewels in this trust could only be sold post his death and the death of his son Azam Jah. Osman Ali Khan died in 1967 and his eldest son Azam Jah passed away three years later.

Azam Jah, also known as Azam Jah Damat Walashan Sahebzada Nawab Sir Mir Himayat Ali Khan Bahadur Bey Effendi, was the Prince of Berar and the eldest son of Osman Ali Khan Asaf Jah VII, the 7th and last Nizam of the princely state of Hyderabad.

2023年1月27日 · Jah will be remembered not only as the titular Niẓām of Hyderabad, but also as an individual who cared about the people of his homeland. Jah kept his ties to Hyderabad alive. In December 1971, he set up the Mukarram Jah Trust for Education and Learning, through which he funded several academic institutes.

2023年1月21日 · On April 6, 1967, he was coronated as Asaf Jah the Eighth, after the death of Mir Osman Ali Khan in February 1967. Chosen as heir over his father Azam Jah, Mukarram did not show much interest in managing and preserving his vast estate.
