    Food fraud is the deliberate and intentional substitution, addition, tampering, or misrepresentation of food, food ingredients, or food packaging. It can occur at any point along the farm-to-table food supply chain, including in the raw material, in an ingredient, in the final product, or in the food’s packaging. The act of food fraud is done for economic gain. Types of food fraud include but are not limited to: adulteration, substitution, dilution, tampering, simulation, counterfeiting, and misrepresentation.
