Kitaro (Japanese: 鬼太郎 Kitarō) is a Yo-kai of the Brave tribe in Yo-kai Watch: Wibble Wobble and Yo-kai Sangokushi: Kunitori Wars. He is a character from the GeGeGe no Kitarō series, who is one of the main protagonists of the series.

Kitarō (鬼太郎, Kitarō), also known as GeGeGe no Kitarō (ゲゲゲの鬼太郎), is a yōkai boy born in a cemetery after the death of his parents. Aside from his mostly-decayed father, Medama-Oyaji, he is the last surviving member of the Ghost Tribe.

GeGeGe no Kitarō (ゲゲゲの鬼太郎), originally known as Hakaba Kitarō (墓場鬼太郎, "Kitarō of the Graveyard"), is a Japanese manga series created in 1960 by Shigeru Mizuki. It is best known for its popularization of the folklore creatures known as yōkai, a class of spirit-monster which all of the main characters belong to.

In the works of Shigeru Mizuki, most prominently GeGeGe no Kitarō, Yōkai refers to all supernatural beings, not just limited to those of Japanese mythology. It is not mutually exclusive with Akuma and Gods, where a being may be referred to as one or more of the three.

Western Yōkai (西洋妖怪, Seiyō Yōkai) is a general term for yōkai who hail from outside of Asia, but it is more commonly used to refer to a specific band of yōkai who wage war on the Japanese yōkai in the Shonen Magazine story The Great Yōkai War. The Western Yōkai are usually depicted as lead by Backbeard.

It's a cheap video production w Kitaro,Ratman & all in funny costumes (like an off-off broadway adaptation of Wizard of Oz) but with a story in modern times. Kitaro gets a letter (via Mizuki as a painter himself ? not sure).

Yokai are the magical beings of GeGeGe no Kitaro that come in a number of species and classifications. The term is not exclusive to Japanese monsters, but also includes monsters from around the world.
