Let's Go
liver Koppell came to college as a young man with a big idea: to create a travel guide for those who thought travel was beyond their reach. On the floor of his dorm room, Koppell crafted 25 pages of advertisements, brochures, and tips on touring Europe: the first Let's Go guide.
Timeline - Let's Go
From humble beginnings as a pamphlet of travel tips slapped together for students summering in Europe, Let's Go blossomed into one of the world's most popular travel guides, a mainstay on the shelves of bookstores, hostels, and world travelers for 61 years.
HUMBLE ORIGINS - Let's Go
Let's Go was designed to be a highly practical and utilitarian travel guide. James Posner and Oliver Koppell, with Koppell now serving as HSA President, aimed to create a comprehensive compendium that could easily be carried by travelers.
2010s
Despite retaining key staff for 2022, travel bans persisted, resulting in another missed summer of travel. After enduring industry shifts and two years without their signature product, Let’s Go, a staple in travel literature for 61 years, made the heart-wrenching decision to end its journey.
NOTABLE ALUMNI - Let's Go
Oliver Koppell (B.A '62) founded Let's Go Travel Guide and served as the president of HSA in FY61. After graduating, Oliver became a member of the New York City Council and later held the position of New York Attorney General from 1994 to 1995.
