The son of Poseidon and Periboea, the daughter of Eurymedon He was the king of the Phaeacians, who originally lived in the fair town of Hypereia in Thrinacia, near the Cyclopes. The Cyclopes were stronger then they and plundered them, so Nausithous moved his people and settled on the island of Scheria, far from all other people.
