Potter Hollow is a hamlet in the extreme western part of Rensselaerville. Potter Hollow was named after one of it's first settlers Timothy Potter who settled there about 1806. [1]. According to the U.S. Census, in 2000 the population of Potter Hollow and Preston Hollow combined was 374.

The Rensselaerville Historic District includes most of the buildings within the hamlet of Rensselaerville. It consists of approximately ninety structures and related outbuildings situated along Main Street and three intersecting roads entering from the north and east.

2025年1月25日 · The two photographs are from the town of Rensselaerville, a hamlet located 27 miles southwest of Albany, New York. Stone walls abound throughout the Helderbergs. Most have fallen into disrepair and have been overtaken by forest. I think of the farmers centuries ago clearing the land, moving the stone to build a wall.

2017年1月9日 · Medusa is a hamlet of Rensselaerville in the eastern part of town along the Ten Mile Creek. Medusa was settled in 1783. The first name of the hamlet was "Hall's Mills" after its first settlers Uriah Hall and his son Joshua Hall who leased from Stephen Van Rensselaer.
