I rented a car seat once when I was traveling alone with my 5yo and 2yo, only because it would have been too difficult to manage all the luggage and stroller and 2 kids PLUS the toddler car seat. The car seat I got from the rental was clean and installed just fine with LATCH but it took a lot of time to install and size everything appropriately.

According to the Enterprise website to rent you need to have a valid license (G2 is fine), valid form of payment, and meet the age restrictions (must be over 21, if you're under 25 you'll have to pay an extra ~$20 per day)

Just tried to rent a gas car at Avis and oh what a surprise the only car available were the electric cars. It was the Chevy Bolt. I did not take the car. It was mentioned, that Avis will be moving more to EV cars. It was also noted that you could only charge the car at one place.

As the title says - we rented a car in Japan and loved every minute of it. To top it off, tolls, gas and parking were much cheaper than we expected. We decided to rent a car in Odawara (on May 13, 2024), keep it for a week and return it in Osaka. It was pricey to return the car so far away, but in our opinion, worth every penny.
