A Place to Weave is a weaving studio offering open studio and hand weaving lessons on multi-harness floor looms and Cricket Rigid Heddle looms. Open studio offers the opportunity to learn and advance your weaving skills in a community weaving environment.

Is there a weaving project for each episode? Year 1 lessons are all foundational videos on how to make a good warp, dress a loom, how to calculate EPI, sett charts, project planning, how to weave a Mohair Blankie, finishing techniques and information on looms & yarns.

Weaving I: Basic Weaving Techniques. Weaving I is designed for new, intermediate, and advanced beginners. Instruction covers everything a weaver should know about basic drafting and designing and successful warping and weaving. Warping demonstrations and hands-on practice emphasize how and why things work.

Introduction to Weaving begins with the basics of hand-weaving using a Schacht Wolf Pup 4-harness floor loom. On the first day, participants will learn how to wind a warp and set up their own looms. The second day will cover how to weave, basic weave structures such as plain weave, baskets, twills, and some tapestry techniques.
